Tim and Cindy & The Lonesome
Tradition Band

Tim and Cindy Roggenkamp have
been entertaining audiences throughout Minnesota and surrounding
states for nearly 30 years. They have played in a variety of
bands during that time, both as backup musicians and as band
leaders. They have also performed a wide variety of musical
styles from Classic Country and Traditional Bluegrass to Electric
Country and Rock.
Today, they focus on adding their
unique touch to the early traditions of country and bluegrass
music. Tim and Cindy perform a variety of styles from slow ballads
to fast instrumentals, and on various instruments including
guitar, bass, banjo and mandolin. Performing either as a duo
or 4-piece band, they enjoy preserving authentic American music
with their own distinct sound.
Tim Roggenkamp is a multi-instrumentalist,
singer and songwriter. He is best known for his hard-driving
yet tasteful banjo playing, but is also accomplished on lead
and rhythm guitar, mandolin and bass. Tim released a solo CD
entitled, Northern Lights, which received a very
favorable first-page review in I. The CD, including several
original songs, received national and international airplay.
Cindy Roggenkamp plays standup
bass and has kept rock-solid rhythm for several bands. She sings
lead and harmony vocals and is also accomplished on rhythm guitar.
Tim and Cindy have recorded with
several bands, starting with their first vinyl album in 1978
entitled Where I'm Bound. They have also recorded
projects with their band, The Lonesome Tradition,
and with The Platte Valley Boys, as well as Tim's
solo CD.
Tim and Cindy provide that rare combination
of professionalism, musicianship, and entertainment to provide
a truly pleasing show - whatever the event. Perhaps John Andrus
of the Frozen Fingers Bluegrass Festival said it best when he
commented. Tim and Cindy and their band are first class,
complete with lonesome singing, serious picking, and a whole
lot of fun on stage."
