Last
year The Minnesota Bluegrass & Old-Time Music Festival was
nominated as Event of the Year by the International Bluegrass
Music Association (we were also nominated for this prestigious
award in 2005). We're making plans to pack our five stage venues
with great music, dance and entertainment. There will be over
thirty-five hours of Main
Stage concerts, special talent showcases and nightly dances
in the Showcase Tent,
real hands-on workshops in the Workshop Area, family friendly
shows and activities in the Family
Area, and plenty of good food and fun in the Marketplace.
The many camping areas that circle the festival will be packed
too, as hundreds of amateur pickers descend on El Rancho Mañana
for their annual dose of jam sessions.
The
29th annual edition of this festival will take on August 7-10
2008 and features Mountain
Heart (Sat & Sun), Grasstowne
(Fri & Sat), Cadillac
Sky (Thur), The
Dirk Powell Band (Fri & Sat),
Balfa Toujours (Fri & Sat), Mike
Seeger (Fri-Sun), The
Stairwell Sisters (Thu-Sat), Michael
Cleveland & Flamekeeper (Fri), Monroe
Crossing (Thur-Sun), Sawtooth
Bluegrass Band (Sat & Sun), The
DitchLilies (Thu & Fri), Poor
Benny (Sat & Sun), Ivory
Bridge (Fri & Sat), Morgans
Run (Sat & Sun), The Bag O'Dirt Band (Thu &
Fri), Bill
& Kate Isles (Sat & Sun),
Brennen Leigh (Fri & Sat), and The
Roe Family Singers (Sat & Sun).
All
of this will be in a family friendly atmosphere at El
Rancho Mañana Campground & Riding Stables in
Stearns County (MN). El Rancho Mañana is the largest
campground in Minnesota with horseback riding, boating and fishing,
miles of hiking, biking, and riding trails on over 1200 acres,
a swimming beach, and good shower and store facilities. It has
been owned and operated by The Ward Family for over forty years.
The many camping areas that circle the festival will be filled
with the hundreds of amateur pickers that descend on El Rancho
Mañana for their annual dose of jam sessions.
Come for the day or camp for the weekend. It's
a great family weekend! For further information, call 800-635-3037
